Resumen de DeepSleep
DeepSleep permitirá que tu Mac portátil o de escritorio entre en reposo sin usar energía ni agotar las baterías. Guarda todo en el disco y deja de usar energía por completo. Cuando despiertes tus máquinas presionando el botón de encendido, DeepSleep restaurará todo y despertará justo como lo dejaste. Toma un poco más de tiempo que el sueño normal, pero es un gran ahorrador de batería cuando sabes que no usarás la computadora por un tiempo. ¡Pruébalo, te encantará la comodidad y la vida extra de la batería!

- Sueño regular: Cierra la tapa.
- Hibernación DeepSleep: Inicia DeepSleep.
- Sin menú, sin configuración, súper fácil.

This does exactly what I want, it instantly puts my mbp (2017) into hibernation. my mbp won't sleep correctly and will overheat if not hibernating. I'd love to give them their five bucks. I'm running 13.7.6 btw.

Version 2.4 has been available since November 30, 2016. You can get it from the developer's site.
HOWEVER! Note that the .DMG file for v2.4 is screwed up and does NOT include the very useful Dashboard widget! If you attempt to install what looks like the widget, you'll get an ERROR message as it's merely an icon with a name on it. I've attempted to inform the developer.
INSTEAD: Use an older version of the widget. I found v1.5 of the widget works fine. v2.2 of the widget is odd in that you have to Stop/Quit Dashboard before it works. ALSO NOTE: The widget requires the app to be installed in order to work, which means it's NOT free past the trial period.
Oh and v2.4 works fine on macOS 10.12.6 Sierra. [I'm skipping 10.13.x due to its incomplete and sloppy rollout of APFS, Apple File System.]

Doesn't work on mac mini with yosemite, after some minutes my mac wakes again, this is a scam. The widget also called "deepsleep" works well and it is free! this app sucks.

There's a FREE dashboard widget also called Deep Sleep. It is free. The current version 1.2 works fine for me (Yosemite 10.10.3) http://deepsleep.free.fr

DeepSleep1.2 doesn't work with Mavericks :(
DeepSleep2.2 does work with Mavericks but not Free :(
SafeSleepOnce is better, simple and works very well with Mavericks
